As a Senior Procurement Analyst in our construction Procurement Group, located in Mississauga, ON will be reporting to the Procurement Manager. This position will be typically responsible for large, complex packages and large construction orders with priority on subcontracts.

This position requires presence in the office on all days at our Mississauga Office at 110 Matheson Boulevard West, Mississauga, ON

Role and General Responsibilities

  • Responsible for tasks varying in nature and urgency, such as:
  1. Bid package preparation, issue to market and expediting
  2. Project vendor list development
  • Issue RFP’s
  1. Bid evaluation
  2. Negotiating
  3. Issuing PO’s, contracts or change orders using Procurement Systems
  • Supplier Negotiation: Conduct detailed reviews of supplier pricing, contractual terms, and delivery schedules to ensure alignment with project contract requirements, value-for-money principles, and critical timelines.
  • Stakeholder & Relationship Management: Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with the Project Co and supply chain partners, ensuring transparent communication and mutual accountability to support project success.
  • Contract Administration: Oversee the evaluation and management of contracts, change orders, and submittals, ensuring all procurement processes are compliant with project scope and specifications.
  • Issue Resolution: Collaborate effectively with Project Co and suppliers to proactively address and resolve procurement or subcontractor-related issues, mitigating risks and preventing potential project delays.
  • Project Delivery Expertise: Demonstrated strong understanding of project design and construction processes, ensuring successful outcomes by effectively balancing procurement and subcontracting strategies with cost control, scheduling priorities, and value-for-money principles.
  • Multidisciplinary Leadership: Proven ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams, driving alignment across engineering, procurement, and construction disciplines to consistently achieve project milestones and key deliverables.
  • Manage deadlines and ensure appropriate communication is provided (to relevant parties) when schedule conflicts arise.
  • Administer and electronically distribute specified reports to Client and/or other staff members.
  • Expected to work with all levels of the organization in a cohesive manner.
  • Typically responsible for large, complex supply and installation as well as service packages and large fabrication orders.
  • Mentor to junior procurement analysts.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Degree, diploma or certificate in Supply Chain Management or other applicable area
  • 8 – 11 years of construction industry experience preferred
  • Previous experience in an EPCM environment with a focus on transit, Infrastructure, Mining, Oil&Gas and design build projects,  is an asset.
  • Experience in SAP is an asset.
  • Proficient in MS word, excel spreadsheets, outlook, database, and word processing software.
  • Proficient in the English language (Reading, writing, and speaking)

 Preferred Skills

  • Clear understanding of procurement procedures/workflows and how they relate to Client-specific and/or project requirements.
  • Familiar with implementing principles and tools such as escalation clause and rebate clause etc. utilized in negotiating long term agreements.
  • Strong understanding of subcontracts and service-related principles such as: supply, installation or service contracts.
  • Experience in end-to-end management and negotiations of change orders.
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills; ability to meet deadlines.
  • Outstanding problem-solving ability
  • Proven ability to multi-task and efficiently respond to changing priorities.
  • Accepts coaching, knowledge and support from more experienced staff.
  • Familiarity with designing process, inventory, project management, and arithmetic abilities to perform accurate calculations.
