Reporting to the Design and Engineering department, the Student Project Coordinator- Co-op will be responsible for assisting with Design and Engineering support to ongoing projects and supporting the construction team to ensure that the company’s Design system is properly implemented and utilized.

Role and General Responsibilities

  • Assist in assessing the change impacts to project schedules and budgets
  • Assist in complete change management assessments
  • Assist in applying a change management process and tools to create a strategy to support adoption of the changes required by a project or initiative
  • Ability to managing client and key stakeholders expectations to build and sustain long-term relationships with clients
  • Identify and coordinate follow up activities of changes
  • Effective communication of all the required activities and follow-up as a result of the scope changes
  • Work together with project management staff to ensure accurate and effective management of project budgets and project deliverables
  • Support organizational design and definition of roles and responsibilities
  • Assist in tracking and recording all changes and follow-up to ensure that all field activities are completed as per the change management plan
  • Schedule and project controls using Primavera P6
  • Effectively communicate all issues and concerns to the relevant stakeholder groups
  • Lead by example by demonstrating the importance of fostering a safety culture

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1+ years of related industry experience in project controls, forecasting and other project control reports
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6 is an asset
  • JD Edwards Enterprise, ProjectWise and 3D Modeling is an asset
  • Experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access) and the ability to work with multiple programs
  • Proven progressive experience in project controls
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and scheduling reports
  • Foreman and General Foreman experience is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task, and prioritize with experience responding to changing deadlines/priorities
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate in a professional manner
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Must possess current CSTS
  • Well organized, flexible, detail oriented and multi-tasked.
  • Proficient in the English language (Written, reading and speaking)

Preferred Skills

  • LRT experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to communicate and develop relations
