This position will design and coordinate traffic and transit requirements during construction and minimize the impact on traffic operations and temporary designs, on the Hurontario LRT Project.
Role and Responsibilities
- Implement the Mobilinx HSE Program Manual and Project Specific Safety Program (PSSP), Project Traffic Management Plan (TMP) and Ministry of Transport construction requirements
- Development, implementation and management of the TTMP;
- Ensuring that Contracting Authority, the Municipalities and their respective transit providers are kept informed of all upcoming traffic activities and any revisions to the TTMP;
- Ensuring that appropriate modifications are made to the TTMP if the specified traffic control measures are not achieving the requirements;
- Coordinating with persons carrying out work in areas adjacent to the Lands;
- Co-chairing (with Contracting Authority) the Transportation Management Committee; and
- Ensuring the timing and organized delivery of public and Stakeholder communication information.
- The Traffic Manager shall be a Professional Engineer, registered in Ontario, with the following qualifications:
- Monitors subcontractors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements at a company, site and provincial level
- Ensures appropriate quantities of supplies of appropriate traffic control devices
- Remains current with Mobilinx HS&E program, safety equipment and regulations
- Completes all required monthly, weekly and daily reports
- On-call during non-working hours for notification regarding a site deficiency or incident
- Manages all traffic control staff on site
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Civil Engineering
- Licensed P.Eng in Ontario
- Minimum of twenty (20) years of progressive engineering and project management experience (minimum of 15 years of post-licensure experience)
- Ten (10) years of experience specifically related to traffic management and construction staging during construction; and
- Experience in design-build projects where rapid transit services or roadways were constructed within an urban area.
- Transportation Project experience preferred
- Knowledge of MS Suite products) Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Etc.)

- Business development skills including experience building and maintaining productive relationships with a client base
- Able to cope with demanding schedule and lead / co-ordinate a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manages time to meet project budget and schedule
- Possess extremely excellent written and oral communication skills
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and interpersonal skills
